Okay, so I checked the UK Tribes website and did a bit of browsing through the different categories of Tribes, I already knew that I was most likely going to be in the Geek and Gamer Tribes.
After reading the article related to what Gamers usually are I noticed that I ticked pretty much all the boxes for it.
"The Gamers are virtually invisible offline, more so than any of the other tribes. However online they leave a more substantial footprint for us to see. The basic make-up of a Gamers online presence consists of the following essentials; at least one gamertag / avatar and a forum ID."
I do have a Gamertag that I used to frequently log into (Before the console it was used on died on me.) and I also have an Avatar (A logo/Name or picture relating to the person in question usually) which is as shown below, this picture usually goes with my online Forum ID and on pretty much all of my Game related accounts.
My usual Gaming name (And profile picture) that a fair few people know me as online.
"Your gamertag, first and foremost, represents your game playing prowess. It ranks your achievements (points for Xbox 360, Trophies for PS3) for all other gamers to see. It's also needed for building friendlists and playing online games. It keeps a record of who you played and when, and allows instant messaging and video messaging between Gamers."
My Xbox 360 Gamertag (Which for some reason isn't the usual name I choose, I should probably change that sometime...) is currently "Respawn Legacy". On this account I do have a lot of achievements (I've owned something along the line of 270 Games), these achievements also give you a score or a certain amount of points that are just to show how much you play games essentially although sometimes people use these points as a marker for how good that player is, for instance my account has 2148 Achievements that I have earned by doing things in Game (These usually consume a fair amount of time to get which goes to show how much I game really...) in total all these achievements point-wise add up to a grand total of 38243 Gamerscore which could be used by other people to gauge my skill in Gaming or to see if I would make a good ally in a Clan etc.
Just for prove that I have no life. And that I love to Game.
"A forum ID is equally important for a Gamers online presence. Usually Gamers will try to keep this ID unified with their Gamertag, allowing fellow community members to access their raw, game playing, details. This ability to continue conversation from forum to console, coupled with the diverse information we can see from one ID, gives Gamers the richest online presence of all the tribes.
Don’t believe the media stereotype about Gamers being a lazy, anti-social bunch – Gamers are actually very pro-active within their scene. Aside from actually playing games, the politics of the gaming industry, creating games and journalistic skills can all be relatively common attributes within this tribe. If they’re not playing games they could well be blogging about them or, at the very least, offering their thoughts on one of many popular gaming forums."

As I stated before, I usually keep all my Gaming profiles with the same name so that people know that it is me/easier to find me online, It is also true that us Gamers out of everyone else spend the most time online and as such we have the richest online presence out of everyone else.
How the stereotypical idea of a Gamer became a fat, lazy and un-social person is beyond me, that's like saying that because you wear a lot of make up you become a Barbie girl and as such you are now untalkative and made of plastic.
Also, as it states above that us Gamers talk and discuss things going on in the Gaming Industry is very true, the biggest debate between Gamers is 1. "Our console is best! Yours sucks!", this is usually the retarded 12 year old with a voice similar to a balloon squeaking as you open the end slightly thinking that because he plays COD he is some sort of Gaming god and that all others should kneel to him and 2. The discussions about favourite Game producers (Bethesda, Dreamworks, Gearbox etc), Fav Game Genres or just Games and finally favourite characters, weapons, scenes, storylines etc.
Because we all totally look like this, right?.
"Another interesting trait of the Gamer is their significant loyalty to brands. Gamers can rally around a console manufacture (Sony, Nintendo or Microsoft) in a manner that’s not too dissimilar to that of sports fans supporting their team, with rivalry between brands being a key focus. Arguments between these factions will often break out on gaming forums. A concept Gamers refer to as ‘Fan-boyism’."
This is the one thing that make or breaks the Gaming Community as a total, when a large amount of little kids congregate and start saying that "Xbox 360 rules!" or "PS3 is the best!", this are why a lot of people assume Gamers are immature and that Gaming is for kids. Arguments between to systems that are generically identical - They both play Games, they both allow for social interaction and both are relatively easy to obtain - These arguments are usually between Xbox 360 fans, PS3 fans and Wii fans, this is why the Gaming community is usually frowned upon because a bunch of kids spoil it for everyone else.
Don't even try consoles, you know when you've been beat.
Then I checked the Geek page and I also found that I ticked pretty much all the right boxes again.
"Young, smart and technologically savvy, the Geeks might have once been considered the last the person other tribes would want to befriend, but now with youth so reliant on technology in their social lives the Geek has become a powerful and useful ally."
I agree completely, without us Geeks a lot of people would be screwed. Although it isn't just youth that really so heavily on Technology.
I bet you can't even name half of these parts.
"Geeks define themselves by their interaction with technology; by the fact that their relationship with it is all about engagement and a two-way process rather than just passive consumption. Obviously a fan of technology products and gadgets (Android enabled phones and high end PCs) as well as being first to the game when it comes to the latest internet trends (Spotify, UStream and Chatroulette)."
To be fair, doing stuff with computers isn't difficult for most people because they don't need to ever use half the stuff you can do with the PC, whereas if you are building a custom PC or something similar then you will have to know about these things, this can actually be pretty useful as instead of paying somebody £40 an hour to fix your computer you can do it in 5 minutes as long as you know what you are doing.
To you this may look useless, but to a Geek this is a blessing.
"Downloading and file-sharing have primacy over music and fashion for this group. Sites like Vuze and Pirate Bay are popular – new distribution channels through which they can disseminate information to their friends are at the heart of this tribe’s status."
Not true, yes downloading and File sharing are key to most Geek related activities but knowledge about the PC is what defines a Geek more than anything else. And yes, Pirate Bay is pretty awesome.
This place is condemned by the law, used by the cheap and a blessed by the Nerdy.
"This is the tribe that really gets open source – wiki definition: open source is a development methodology, which offers practical accessibility to a product’s source (goods and knowledge). In other words, they can get inside games and blogs and websites and other software, making it all do exactly what they want it to do."
Gotta agree with this, I've had to explain to the ICT teacher how to use a simple program before. With this Generation comes a wave of younger and more capable Geeks ready to expand the already wide field of Computers.
Not mine - A sanctuary for Nerds and Gamers alike.
And that brings me to the conclusion of all this, Gamers are awesome and Geeks are important.

This is great Jordan. You're getting involved in Media issues and ideas by looking in detail about your own audience profile. I really enjoyed reading through this.
