Social Network Trailer - Questions?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53OUHupfqws
Question 1. How is Mark Zuckerberg represented in the trailer?
Mark is represented as an over confident smart ass, he is also depicted to lack the social skills most people take for granted (Which is shown during the scene where he is sitting in his apartment on his computer wearing a hoodie then suddenly the scene changes to a party with a lot of people, this emphasises the fact that he isn't a very social person.) This is also ironic as he is attempting to create a "Social Networking Site" but whilst doing so he is being very unsocial himself. He is also shown to discard friends to gain fame and popularity as the quote "You don't gain 500,000 friends without making some enemies." plays across the screen.

Question 2. How does the trailer engage the audience?
The trailer engages the audience using a variety of methods, the main method that is used during multiple parts of the trailer is the camera angles which have been methodically used throughout the trailer. The use of quick shots are a sort of metaphor as to how fast Facebook grew and became popular. The music is used to back up the fact that although Facebook is so very popular, it isn't without it's faults, the music backs this claim up as it is slow and deep music that is played throughout the entire trailer. The structure of the trailer is used in a way so that everyone can relate to it, this is shown during the montage of different profile pictures that play during the beginning of the trailer.

Fun Fact of the day (Or whenever you are reading this I guess.) - You cannot decline a friend request from Mark Zuckerberg on Facebook, it is literally impossible.

  1. The second question uses some media terminology, and begins to analyse well.

The first is too informal! You aren't telling the examiner what you can see, you need to let them know you can analyse what's going on in a 'Media way'.
