Law Abiding Citizen

What is Law Abiding Citizen about?
“A frustrated man decides to take justice into his own hands after a plea bargain sets one of his family's killers free. He targets not only the killer but also the district attorney and others involved in the deal.” In other words it is about a man who is denied the opportunity to put the man who murdered his wife and child in front of him behind bars, instead he decides deal out his own form of justice. After being apprehended he is still dealing justice and Jamie Foxx must stop him before everyone is killed.
Genre
The genre of Law Abiding Citizen is Crime, Drama and Thriller. This is depicted by the story of the film, where there are multiple deaths but they are separated and each one has a backstory that shows how that person or group of people didn’t uphold the law and let the men that murdered Clyde’s family go free.

How is violence represented in Law Abiding Citizen?

Violence in LAC is represented as a form of justice when the law refuses to step in. The film itself represents Violence as a tool to be used to gain justice, this is shown when an Innocent man kills multiple people who failed to uphold the law in the first place. The way that violence is used in this film however makes the viewer feel that the right thing has been done, this is achieved by creating sympathy for the main character after his family is brutalized and the law is unable to further help him afterwards, because of this the violence is treated as a form of justice for the main character.

The movie shows the struggle between one particular Jumper trying to stay alive and protect the ones he loves from the Paladins.

Genre

The genre of Jumper is thriller and action. The film contains multiple actions scenes and it also has a thriller aspect to it. The entire film manages to play along without adding too much suspense to it which could make it seem slow paced, instead it makes each scene connect to a previous scene making it a lot more understandable and makes the plot more interesting.

How is violence represented in the movie Jumper?

In Jumper violence is represented as a method of staying alive and a method of forcing your beliefs onto others, this is depicted by the Jumpers battling the Paladins and the Paladins wanting to shape the world in their own image by removing a sub species that has abilities they do not. The violence is used as a tool to justify both parties actions although it hints towards people disliking the Paladins a little more as they seem ruthless and will do anything to achieve their goal (Including Hostage situations.)
