Quick Media Speech Summary

2. How people and/or places are represented in the media products in your case study?

Research Characters + Backgrounds, history, etc

Discuss how the Media has made good use of land marks and other well known locations (I.E Why choose New York over ____?)

How character stereotypes are applied and portrayed

How they produce personal links that allow the audience to relate to the characters/do the same with locations, how they show a certain location to create a sort of link with the audience

Lifestyles of all the characters are rather simple, maybe to create a personal bond between the audience or maybe to show that the situation in the film could happen in real life

How advertising has changed the viewing point of certain characters (Merchandise for Law Abiding Citizen for example, it may change the audience from thinking the main character is a bad guy and make them think that he is actually trying to do good)

Quizzes and questions that allow people to find out what character they are most like, having a more interactive approach to portray characters

Official websites containing information about characters that wasn't shown/portrayed in the film
